All riding holidays begin with an assessment session and are supervised by experienced guides. This allows guests to settle in, build confidence with their horse, and ensures each riding experience is tailored to individual ability.

Our Horses

We work with a herd of happy, mostly home-bred and home-trained horses. Our riding holidays are built around the partnership between horse and rider — our motto is “pro-horse”.

Horses and ponies live outdoors in a herd, enjoying the freedom of extensive pastures. We breed Irish Draught Horses, Irish Sport Horses, Connemara ponies and Irish Cobs, and always have a selection of well-schooled horses and ponies for sale.

Accommodation

Accommodation ranges from self-catering or B&B to a hotel break. Non-riding travel companions can be accommodated at request.

Please Note:

Island View Riding Stables now specialises exclusively in equestrian holidays.

No casual rides or stand-alone lessons
Riding available only to residential guests
Full access to lessons, beach rides, day rides and island rides.
Riding for special needs clients is available by appointment.
Livery (grass or stable): A limited number of livery places are available for clients with their own horses, with their own personal accident and own public liability insurance. Guiding services and lessons will be available for livery clients.
We continue to breed, train and sell horses.

The treks will take you throught some amazing local sights, back roads, mountains, beaches. Highly recommend for people who are into nature and horses. Unsere Tochter (9 Jahre alt) hat in der Woche Dank der tollen Reitlehrerinnen und mit Mix and Match riesige Fortschritte beim Reiten gemacht und auch ich hab mich nach rund 30 Jahren wieder in den Sattel geschwungen. Die gemeinsamen Ausritte am Strand waren einfach traumhaft!! Wir kommen gerne wieder! DANKE!!!

We had expected nice riding, but the amazing scenery was a bonus we were not prepared for.The long beaches gives opportunities for cantering that are impossible around a city where we live. I am a mid level rider myself and after the first to me pretty scary canters I felt completely safe because the horses are so calm, experienced and used to the landscape, the types of rides and each other.
They are really well kept. My daughter who is a much better rider than me also got the opportunity to do a free gallop on a racing beach and had the time of her life. Cantering in the woods was also super exciting when we had to duck for the twigs and branches. As the horses were so safe I felt completely safe whatever we did.The day trips were quite different, some with more action, some longer ones with a lot of walking and more focus on the scenery.The farm is lovely and with a really family feel. If you expect to have everything prepared for you before and after riding and just be there for being serviced this might not be the place for you. You will be expected to help out with tacking and taking care of the horses both before and after riding. To me this is an important part of horsemanship and a way to get a feel for the mood of the horse at the beginning of the day, but I know not everybody agrees and have other plans than washing off a sweaty horse after a full day of riding. I truly enjoyed the place with all the chicken, dogs and even a miniature Shetland cross breed around. It is not an industrial stable like some others we have visited. We had a great time!

Super choix: on répartit nos heures à cheval entre cours, petites balades ou sorties à la journée et on choisit le cheval qui nous correspond: un Iris Cob tranquille ou un poney pour un peu plus de fun et d'adrénaline 😁. Nous avons été super bien accompagnées par toutes les guides qui étaient adorables et très compétentes et  nous avons eu un temps magnifique. Je crois bien que nous allons revenir une troisième fois 😇
