Spanish Armada on Horseback

Prices on application

For this experience we team up with maritime archaeologist Auriel Robinson of Seatrails who rides with the group and shares her knowledge of the sites you meet along the route.

Join Auriel’s signature trail to Streedagh Beach on horseback.

On this ride you will hear about the Spanish Armada shipwrecks at stunning Streedagh Strand. You will cross a magnificent tidal lagoon, wild sand dunes and get a chance to canter on Streedagh Strand. See archaeology along the way, have a nice packed lunch out of your saddle bag on picturesque Connor's Island and hear all about Captain Francisco de Cuellar who escaped after a horrendous gale hit this part of the coast on September 21st 1588.

On your return to the stables, you can refresh your horse’s legs in seawater and relax, sit back and take it all in!

For Booking and Enquiries: check out Seatrails website.

Auriel also offers her expert guiding services on other rides. You can choose a 1 hour beach ride, 2 hour beach and bog or a Mullaghmore ride.

Prices available on request.
